Stage 2 : Make a splash!

Youth Splash & Dash Event!

The Tri-Oswego Splash and Dash is a USAT Sactioned Swim and Run event. Timing starts just before the athlete enters the water (individually) of the indoor pool and does not stop until they cross the finish line in the run segment (chip timing). Youth athletes get to finish side-by-side with adult triathletes and duathletes at the events finish line!

  • Ages 7-10: 100yd indoor serpentine pattern swim and 1.39 mile closed road run
  • Ages 11-15: 200yd indoor serpentine pattern swim and 1.39 mile closed road run

Post Event BBQ, Vendors, and Entertainment!

The Maines Foods and Michelob Ultra Food and Beverage area overlooking scenic Lake Ontario will be open for the Post Race BBQ for Athletes & Volunteers. BBQ will be available for purchase if you did not receive a ticket as part of your event entry. Michelob Ultra and other adult beverages available for purchase along with non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day.

Visit health and fitness related vendors and childrens activities throughout the event as a spectator or after you've finished the races. Awards will be distributed as races complete and live music will be playing in the afternoon. Free children's fun run will take place towards the end of the days events.

Event FAQ

What are USAT Sanctioned Events?

The term “sanction” refers to the compliance of a multisport event to USA Triathlon’s safety requirements. Safety plans, course maps, and event details must be submitted for review by experienced USA Triathlon staff. This ensures events are safe and fair competition environments.

What is included in registration?

The registration fee includes event entry (nonrefundable), Splash & Dash Series event shirt, Race bib, Event timing chip during the event, Finisher's Medal, and Race Swag provided by USAT

What determines age category and rules?

Per USAT rules, All Youth participants shall compete based upon their age on December 31 of the year of the event. View a full list of USAT Event Rules HERE

What if I am racing an event myself and can not be with my child?

During morning check-in, all youth athletes will have a serialized wrist band attached by our staff. The accompanying parent/ guardian will be given the matching band which must be attached to the person picking up the athlete. Youth athletes can not leave the finishline holding area without proper matching. Unaccompanied youth athletes will be shuttled to the swim start and held at the finish line until they have been picked up.

  • pre

    Check-in & Stage

    7:30am-9:30am Check-in, tagging, and markings for Youth Athletes.

  • Shuttles

    10am Shuttles begin moving youth athletes to SUNY Oswego's Lee Hall. 10:30am Safety brief at Lee Hall

  • Swim

    Transition Set-up

    To expose youth athletes to adult level multisport events, Parents/ Guardians CAN NOT assist their youth athlete during their transition at the SUNY Oswego Campus to the run segment of the course.

  • Swim Course

    After receiveing their safety brief, youth athletes will be lined up and individually enter the water per the Race staff instructions. Timing begins from the time the athelte eneters the water until the time the cross the main event finish line.

  • Run

    Transition

    After exiting the water, youth atheletes must change in to any prestaged running attire and immediatly begin the run segment of the event. Parents/ Guardians CAN NOT assist their youth athlete during their transition at the SUNY Oswego Campus per USAT rules.

  • Run to the finish

    Runners will exit transitions and begin the run course observing signage and staying within coned lanes as necessary to safely allow bike traffic. The event finish line is located at Breitbeck Park.
